For candidates who get to the final stage, it helps if the recruiter personally calls them to give the feedback with reasons where possible.

The feedback survey we recently implemented asks candidates to rate their experiences with our recruiters with respect to how much clarity they got regarding the role they were contacted about and what to expect in the recruitment process. We gained some great insights from the analysis of the feedback to help improve our processes.

I say this a lot, if you collect feedback you absolutely MUST communicate what you do with it, even if you choose not or cannot take the suggestion(s) further. I regularly hear that hiring processes should not be included in this type of feedback loop, however, you can communicate the changes you make through a variety of means such as social media, on your website, or you can continue to engage with unsuccessful candidates, building a talent pool by maintaining engagement, and highlighting pragmatic action based on feedback provided.
