In my experience, - its also important to clearly define the api architecture pattern clearly, for example Rest Api or graphql etc - Overview of the api, domain knowledge should be there as well, so that clients can get the better understanding - Sample data to test the api is really helpful during integration - To avoid confusion and set a clear path, right grouping and ordering of the apis are also helpful. Eg users api (create, list etc), transaction apis(create, read trx etc)
