How can you maintain motivation and enthusiasm when handling complex problems?

- One things I have to found from my experience is never focus on solve the problem but focus on which things go wrong from ideal conditions. That means start always from basic steps rather than assumptions. If you're helpless take short break and enjoy that time like listening music. After some time start work from first step or with fresh mind.

Sometimes there is something new that you may need to learn to solve this problem, rather than being able to use the tools and know-how directly from your experience until that time. So, be open to learning, and exploring new ideas to get some insights.

I have made friends with different people during different plants and I have worked with them with good morals and good attitude and always sharing work reduces conflicts and difficulties.

List out most probable route causes first. Then eliminate each one of those route causes . start with things which take less time first. Sometimes the problem will not be as big as we think . Things which take little time will complete fast which will motivate you to do more complex work with confidence in the end.

At the same time, we need to draw a line between depending on others' suggestions who are not present at the site versus your insights directly from your observations. I used to check with multiple people anticipating some magical spell by someone you were contacting. In the majority of cases that may not happen.

From each of these learnings, if you can make some good notes that can be referred to later is highly valuable. Just trusting our mind to remember forever may not help you every time.

One thing I would do differently that I failed to do in most of my career is send a nice summary email to your team and other cross-functional teams, including your department seniors. That can help to a great extent to bring in visibility, sharing your learnings with others, and that acts as a dopamine booster. Putting it on social media by following all company guidelines can help you improve branding as well.

It's always important to remember that you are a brand ambassador for your company and it's your own personal brand that you need to take care of. Treat the onsite teams with respect, and answer their questions and challenges in an assertive way with a positive mindset. It is possible that you may not have solved the field problem immediately, and you may be waiting for another supplier to come and fix it, spare parts to come, etc. In any situation, it's not always the outcome but feelings and behaviors are the ones people remember for a long time. Maintaining a positive decorum in all situations is something that we need to learn.
