How can you maintain a healthy work-life balance as a freelance marketer?

If you don’t set boundaries, your clients will walk all over you. It can be hard to say no, but it’s harder to have to work twice as hard for the same paycheck

There is no one size fits all for work, life balance, so it really starts with figuring out what that is. Then you have to build a lifestyle around that. It starts by asking… What healthy for me? What do I find happiness and fulfillment in? How much sleep do I need? How much work is too much, and where is my tipping point? Everyone is different. I grew up working full-time through high school. I like working. I don’t need a crazy amount of sleep. What about you? Do you need four or five hours to unwind every night? Do you need a full day every weekend to unplug? Once you fully understand what is sustainable and palatable, then you can build your schedule and work life around it.

As a freelancer, you're not bound by a company's mission or strategic plan. You forge your own path, guided by your own compass, your own "why." This Purpose, this driving force, becomes your ultimate buffer against burnout. It fuels your passion, elevates your work, and safeguards your well-being. Sure, set smart boundaries, but also anchor yourself in that Purpose. A strong sense of purpose, finding meaning and value in your work, is linked to greater overall life satisfaction, better physical and mental well-being.

Goals and plan. This is what my time is most about. I have set a plan and a schedule to follow so I don′t miss out on anything and also so I can provide the people that follow me with great value at the right time. I don' t have to think any day what to do and when. It′s already clear. This also set boundaries and I know how much time I have for more job. Learn to be true to yourself and how much you can demand from yourself. Be kind to yourself and keep it fun.

I have a schedule, with times, days and projects. So I know when to deliver to whom. I also have a to do list for the week. I would say write down everything you need to do, start with nr 1 and keep on that task until it′s done. Don′t jump around in your tasks , learn how to keep your mind focus on one thing at the time.

Routine. It might be a boring word, but it′s a must. The most successful businessmen I have met are living their lives after a routine. They work out certain hours, work certain hours, maintain their personal calls a certain hour etc. I think this is smart. Then you can be "all there" when you do something and your mind is not busy stressing over all aspects of the day. Then when you are working you are working and when you are free you can be free. I think this is a mindset that can reduce a lot of stress.

For me I maintain my health by surrounding myself with great people. I have amazing friends that are a great network. I have chosen my friends well and sometimes had to cut off some people that don' t bring me good energy. I have done active choices in this area. I meditate everyday and I update my followers with great content every morning to keep them going and it also keep me going. I want to spread good energy and I expect it to come back to me and it does. Starting the day with meditation and some dance in front of the mirror is a great way to start the day. Ending it with great intentions, and to be thankful is a great way to relax.
