Understanding the need by the end user or stake holder is very important. These are your audience which will demand something which could be challenging to achieve. Don't ignore these facts even if it is difficult to achieve. Your audience is the one which will keep you going understanding what is required, long term goal to achieve the task and to action on specific things if not in accordance to business.

Listening actively means paying attention to what the speaker is saying, and also to what they are not saying. It means using verbal and non-verbal cues to show interest and engagement, such as nodding, smiling, eye contact, and paraphrasing. The problem nowadays is we presume that we are listening. We are attending meetings, reading emails, responding to others based upon what we understand. What if someone interrupts you in a meeting and says thats not what we are talking about or thats not the agenda. This kind of act simply states the absence of active listening. Perhaps nowadays, our focus is more on talking rather than listening. If we change the approach, you will bring wonders. By listening and acknowledging to others, you are not only understanding the person correctly, but resolving the conflicts appropriately, able to grab the ideas thoroughly and would be more clear on your stance on what to talk and discuss.

Asking open-ended questions is a great way to encourage the speaker to share more information, insights, and opinions. Open-ended questions are those that cannot be answered with a simple yes or no, but require elaboration and explanation. Its hard for lot of us to include the open-ended questions in a meeting. But if start doing it, we are: 1. Providing transparency on the discussion. 2. Able to understand what others interpreted with what you just delivered. 3. Will be able to gauge what should be the next course of action based upon open-ended questions. 4. You will be able to clarify the doubts and misundertanding related to what you communicated and what the percieved.

Listening for feedback means being open to receiving constructive criticism, praise, suggestions, and complaints from your team, your clients, and your stakeholders.
