Testing helps you avoid technical issues so you, and your listeners, can enjoy each other during the actual live broadcast!

You don't have to - and probably shouldn't - do it all yourself. Having (or hiring) another person or production company to operate behind the scenes and manage the technical elements allows you to focus on the content. Not having to worry about if the right buttons are being pushed at the right time allows you as the presenter to relax more.
