Building information Modeling and Management is totally different you have to consider this in the beginning, building information Modeling is the methodology of building in Software, but management how to manage the information across project life cycle and integrate this information with another stakeholders.

Strive to find the complex reinforcing junctions by modeling rebar, which definitely would require some manual bar placement. It's a fun task and also provides really handy information to contractors. Please let me know if that doesn't make sense, so I can explain it better.

How can you not integrate? Building and foundation are one single entity. A building is a system comprised of components. The foundation directly connects to the environment and sets up the growth of the building system within this environment. Weight and design of roof, walls and all systems are dependent on foundations and civil infrastructure.

I experienced the foundation design in BIM/Revit in multiple projects, it’s so much powerful and useful since it helps you from the excavation period of projects till the final design! It create the excavation information much easier for the contractor team, and it help to avoid any clashes of the foundations with slabs, noting that till the day, the use of reinforcement with Revit can be much challenging, Anyhow, the BIM with foundations is so helpful for design team, planning team and construction team

The foundation design must be placed within the BIM work plan from the beginning because the structural is the first part of the model, and the structural design data for the foundation must be collected and entered into the modeling. If the input is through linking Revit for modeling and a Robot for analysis and design, this procedure will be completely and professionally under the BIM umbrella. I recommend this method to link Revit and Robot and always update the modifications It is the passion and joy that Beam provides

i am confident with Revit, so from my perspective i see Revit till now just modeling software that can save time if you use it to model the Foundation, and still the reinforcement is not mature yet to create the entire reinforcement.
