1 Setting up the share

The first step is to create a network share on a server or a computer that will host the software files. You can use Windows File Explorer or PowerShell to create a share and assign a name and a path to it. For example, you can create a share called Software on the C:\Software folder by using this PowerShell command: New-SmbShare -Name Software -Path C:\Software . Alternatively, you can use the File Explorer to right-click on the folder, select Properties, and then the Sharing tab. There you can click on the Advanced Sharing button and check the Share this folder option. Then you can enter the share name and click OK.
