Las Métricas siempre van a ser lo que nos pone en contexto lo que se logró o lo que falto. En estas mediciones siempre va Aser importante poder llegar a un porcentaje importante de la comunidad que participe, a fundaciones que se involucren, agrupaciones artísticas, el estado, etc. Para todos estos proyectos es fundamental terminar con un informe con datos duros que entreguen una certeza de lo que se logró y lo que tuvo deficiencias para poder mejorarlas en el futuro. Al igual que poder cerrar con algo espectáculo, u otro cierre donde un ciclo de trabajo termina

Muchas veces tenemos miedo de medir. Quizás, pensamos que es algo más comercial, de organizaciones que lucran. Sin embargo, este puede ser el principal error a la hora de recaudar fondos en una ONG. Lamentablemente nuestro sector cuenta con recursos limitados y debemos aprovecharlos al máximo. Por lo que contar con buenos indicadores para medir una campa?a -por el canal de adquisición que sea- nos permite saber dónde concentrar nuestros esfuerzos y por dónde no continuar. Además de medir, es necesario detenerse a revisar los números y rescatar los mejores "insights" para mejorar las campa?as mientras se desarrollan.

More and more people want to be part of an experience. Using art and working with creatives to build a unique experience will keep people more engaged. They will also leave with lasting memories positively associated with your brand.

Value artists' time and talent by paying them. Just because you are a charity doesn't mean that everything is free to you. I have managed several art auctions to support charities with pieces donated by artists. Yet when it comes to commissioned performances, specific pieces, and designs (small cards to large installations), be equitable and pay your artists. They are small businesses or non-profit groups that deserve compensation for their work.

Art works...by professionals artists or amateurs that are in alignment with the area of work can be auctioned to support the fundraising efforts. Ticketed participatory events, cultural evenings can also be organised as fundraisers. Social media is a great medium to connect with your audience, create community and rally support but just by itself these efforts will not result in donors. So a culminating activity where people can take action by participating in an event or an auction will provide funds as well as feedback about the campaign.

At Winesong! we invited local artists to paint wine boxes that then got auctioned off in the live auction tent (filled with donated wine, of course). The artists loved being invited and the bidders/donors/VIPs began collecting the wine boxes. It was a great idea.

Be mindful that as a professional fundraiser you are organising a meeting of the minds - artists and funders. Your role is to tell the art and the artists' story to people who are in a position to fund it. If done well, it can move mountains and create beauty. That's the challenge, and that's why so many of us love the storytelling.
