Make sure you explain your goals, expectations, and deadlines clearly, and thank them for their time and input.

One thing I’ve found helpful is valuing people’s feedback who are outside of the graphic design industry. Sometimes the person evaluating your portfolio and doing the hiring isn’t a graphic designer. I work in marketing and it’s interesting listening to what other people on my team look for when evaluating the success of a portfolio. If you’re looking to get hired at a business that isn’t a design agency I think it’s important to make sure you’re not discounting anyone’s perspective on your portfolio. Non-designers opinions can be equally as valuable.

Your portfolio needs to be updated regularly, it should be easily viewable online and should include all the fields of work you have expertise in. Always remember to only shortlist the best work and don't overload it, be specific in selecting the work according to requirements. It's always better to consult your mentor or instructor before finalizing it.
