When I started in a production house I learned from my senior that always to follow StoryBoard. And if you follow the story board, you can also give your best animation. And the most important thing is time management. It should be kept in mind while working that you are in creative industry, so you can never pressurize the team members and at the same time you have to take care as a team leader that how time the work is finished.

I really like to use Miro for worklow description. It has nice design and you can easily post all iteration of animation, get comments and feedback from clients or managers. Also i like use Monday as management system to track my tasks, getting feedbacks. Monday just looks cool from the design side. Love it

Job creep (on Harmony productions) between animator, compositor, and technical director has been destroying pipelines across all projects for several years now. Leaders on projects need to educate themselves on what each specific job does, and when to hand the file off to someone else. Conversely, if they have a good director, it is up to the crew to vocalize when something is out of their wheel house. Because of the power imbalance, though, this is more on the leaders of crews than anyone else.

We use a RACI matrix to clarify responsibilities on the project. And effective teamwork requires keeping yourself and your teammates accountable for their responsibilities. The team needs to know how to police each other, quality check each others work, and motivate each other to perform better.

Defining roles is probably the #1 priority before any work get started. However, it is good to let everyone who has idea contribute. (bad idea is just as helpful as good, really... many times bad ideas triggers the best one). Once many ideas are on the table, let those to decide which one is worth the effort who is responsible and assigned to that work. Sometimes, it is not the expert who is assigned and will decide, but only give advise and ideas, so others can learn and do their job. Responsibility comes if people accept the work and feel like their own. In our team, anyone can give ideas, we discuss most of the issues together, but everyone has veto in his own area and can decided what comments or ideas will be used from others.

Animation is an art, but it's also a journey. Celebrate victories, big and small. Equally, dissect challenges in post-project debriefs. This not only enhances the team spirit but refines our approach for future endeavors.

You'll always learn more about yourself and your capabilities from jobs that are challenging rather than the easy job. With this in mind, conduct a post-project review to gather insights. Both from clients as well as team mates. Discuss the pros and cons as well as what could be improved in future projects. Analyze the challenges and setbacks encountered and develop a feedback system to learn from these challenges, then help streamline the system next time around. It's all a learning opportunity!

Certainly, if you want to achieve as a producer or director the result that you have in mind, you will have to gradually become multinational and multicultural, or somebody of that and this.

Because you have to learn if you don’t know how to communicate as I did in the 2D stop-motion project that is now in its final stages - with an animator from Argentina, with a composer from Zimbabwe, with a sound engineer from Brazil who moved to Portugal, and with a couple of talented actors and artists from the now "restricted" country of Russia. But what comes out is cool, and it’s important to tell every team member about it. Because praise has never harmed anyone, or rather, it has never harmed a reasonable person.

Creative ideas happens when you are doing something else than your "job"... Don't think in as 8 to 4 job schedule, enjoy your day and let your brain work for you.

It's also important to learn the art of giving and receiving feedback. It takes practice, and there's no course or training you can really take to learn it. Be tactful, polite, and start with a compliment before being critical.

Think about how the team works together. Be ready to change things if needed. Create a place where everyone feels good about being creative and working together. Teamwork is not just about the work; it's also about how everyone gets along and helps each other out.
