That is a tough one, because the VC space is so compartmentalized. You have VC that invest in biological/biochemical sciences. That is a field where you need in-house expertise, which costs money to house. Other fields, such as AI, which is my specialty, one has to be careful to separate the "flash in the pan" from the real gold. Most AI initiatives that dwell on open source data are inferior to those whose data are mined from "closed source", namely in pharmaceuticals, financial services and of course, defense/surveillance/military.

Instead of "healthcare," go specific: medical devices, biotech, etc. Global or regional focus? Find data on revenue, units sold, or customers (Statista, IBISWorld, industry reports). National statistics offices often have relevant info. For public companies, check annual reports for market share estimates. Reports project future market size and growth (Statista, industry analysts). Follow publications like The Economist for insights on factors affecting growth. Public companies might share future growth plans. New rules can impact growth (positive or negative). Disruption can create opportunities or challenges. Who are the big players? Are there new entrants? How will overall economic conditions affect the industry?
