How can you identify the most important coaching outcomes for your organization?

You need to consider an assortment as suited to the organisation and objectives. My preferred method would be leadership 360 assessment which I developed, combined with a psychometric assessment tool specifically designed for Coaching and leadership development. An interview with the sponsor if it is management instilled or from the coachee to find out the objectives or their purpose. The analysis and development of the coaching methodology can be done based gaps identified from the above mentioned tools.

Identifying the most impactful coaching outcomes for an organization doesn't start with the coaching itself, but rather with a clear understanding of the organization's business needs and priorities. By focusing on these areas, we can tailor coaching efforts to address specific objectives. Key areas often include enhancing leadership adaptability, transforming organizational culture, improving people management practices, and fostering diversity and inclusion. By aligning coaching initiatives with these business priorities, the outcomes will naturally align with the organization's broader goals, leading to more effective and meaningful results.

When you're measuring the impact of leadership coaching within your organization, consider that coaching results should be both quantitive and qualitative. You want to be intentional about identifying the right metrics or KPIs that align with the specific coaching goals for your leaders. For example, if one of your top coaching goals is for your managers to increase talent retention within your org, you can measure employee retention rates before and after coaching (quant), as well as ask employees about their likelihood of staying with the company based on how they feel about their manager (qual). You'll get a better understanding of the coaching impact with a holistic tracking methodology that measures results longitudinally.

Break down the coaching process into key milestones or stages. Align evaluation checkpoints with these milestones to track progress and measure success at each step of the journey. Choose metrics and indicators that directly reflect the goals of each coaching stage. For example, if a coaching phase focuses on skill development, identify measurable indicators related to skill enhancement.

This is unconventional but first… know YOUR values & strengths. It plays a big role in your contribution. Here is my experience with my coaching practice : 1) Identify the company’s values 2) Identify where the company actually is by empathy interviews & surveys 3) Talk to the directors of the company and identify their values/ what they want to create 4) Identify measures of success 5) Evaluate, introspect & create course for correction if any.
