Especially if this person tells you "I'm irreplaceable" you should seperate paths at once - every minute longer in the company would make it worse. The problem: as a leader - normally noone in your team tells you about the problem with this person. They don't want to talk bad about a co-worker. Trust me - after you've removed this person a lot of people will come to you and thank you. And only then tell you how bad it has been. And then? Then you'll realize a positive explosion of the productivity of this team.
