1 Assess your team's needs and readiness

It's important to understand the need and the root causes of the challenge as well as change saturation before considering new technology. Ask yourself: -Is this a process, skill, role or technology issue (or combination thereof)? -How many changes and how complex are the change initiatives you're introducing? -Are you trying to drive adoption for other tools, especially related tools, right now? -If it there is a need for tech, how much are your stakeholders wanting the benefits that the tool can provide? Tech investments are only as good as the adoption and usage your stakeholders get from them.

Consider using Critical Skills Analysis, particularly through the use of the CIF scale, it's a valuable tool to help you to identify and understand the potential consequences of failure in job tasks, in this example not using the new technology effectively. It's also useful to identify what type of training will be useful in the different levels of the CIF, so you can focus your training budget where it's most effective. Mitigating the risk of failure and improving the users performance with the new technology.
