The feedback and arguments are difficult. So, you need to be smart enough to avoid any unpleasant interactions. The purpose of these sessions should be clear and also timing is important. Be clear with what you ant to achieve out of this discussion. Ask for the right time to connect and be clear by dropping a mail/ meeting invite requesting this connect with exact purpose. Prepare beforehand about this discussion. Make agenda well structure to keep the call more productive. Keep the feedback constructive. Avoid criticism and blame game. Bring back to the point if the discussion takes a wrong turn. Be respectful and receptive. Also, take the time to connect for a follow up call. Make sure to note and share the MOM for transparency.

2 Choose the right time and place

3 Use the SBI model

The SBI model is a simple and useful framework for giving feedback. It stands for Situation, Behavior, and Impact. 4 Be respectful and supportive

Delivering feedback in a respectful and supportive way is key to ensure your manager receives it positively. To do this, use 'I' statements to express your perspective and feelings without blaming or accusing.
