Flexibility might be the key skill! In general depending also from which background you are coming from. If you play a role within the commercial, you should have the right flexibility to understand a bit of sales, revenue and marketing. So within this space you can probably add some value. What I would like to suggest is having the right balance between analytical and creative skills. If you are capable of having these two characteristics you have an open path ahead of you!

Cross training in the different sectors of the hospitality such as training in the different departments in a hotel and training in a restaurant and if possible to ask for training in other hospitality sectors would help you to chose the best suitable post that you can consider for pursuing your career in the hospitality industry.
