How can you evaluate technological readiness and feasibility?

A lot of hardware startups oftentimes struggle with creating a milestone and phase gate based roadmap. TRLs could be used not only to create a progression of the hardware maturity & understanding around the system, but could also be helpful in determining technical strategy, hiring and operational growth of the company.

In my mission to bridge sustainability and design, I view Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs) as a crucial roadmap. These levels, from concept to real-world application, align with my goal of creating equitable, regenerative solutions. Like mapping socio-environmental sacrifice zones, TRLs help pinpoint gaps in technology development, ensuring our initiatives are ready for meaningful impact, just as a map guides us on our journey.

In my mission to create a more equitable and sustainable world, I see the Technology Evaluation Framework (TEF) as a crucial tool. It aligns with my approach of blending different perspectives and disciplines. TEF's dimensions, like technology maturity and impact, mirror the diverse aspects I consider. Just as my work evolves, so does the evaluation process, ensuring that our innovations stay aligned with our mission. TEF empowers us to make informed decisions and improve our impact continually.

From Transformation perspective the projected RO - Retained Organization is important while analyzing the technical readiness and feaibility. Retained Organization includes resources such as People, Process, Practice that wil be retained post transformation and they are co-related when technology readiness and feasibility is concerned. Based on the maturity level and complexity of technology being used in the organization the RO can be determined. One classic example could be the application being used in the organization for a critical process and what would be the cost if the same became critical at the time of evaluating the resources as part of the RO. It impacts all the three resources mentioned above and helps in chasing the readiness
