How can you ensure your team is meeting project goals?

Qualitative and quantitative goals must be clearly articulated but must complement one another. Further, technical and commercial goals also be separate.

Ensuring team meets project goals requires a multi-pronged approach involving effective communication, clear goal setting, monitoring progress, and providing support and guidance.

Every project must have a very well defined scope and milestones in the initial project plan. A well-structured WBS determining all "deliverables" with deadline and cost per phase will be a basis for the Project Manager to evaluate each step and stage that is being carried out. Software such as Power BI can be used to demonstrate in a dashboard format (visual management) the main impacts of delays or other discrepancies and the responsibilities of each team or project member that is in line with planning and verify the Plan of action to correct the route if you are out. The most important thing is to have a follow-up agreement with the team and have evidence of all phases.

- A clear work break down and planning makes half work done in the planning stage itself. Communicate what is expected outcome from the particular task / Project. - Try and listen to the team for additional support needed in terms of knowledge, Expert assistant and infrastructure requirements to complete the work assigned - Another important point to convey here is delivery schedule / Milestone reviews

Defining clear goals and objectives is good, but managers should avoid the temptation of being too rigid with expectations. There must not be only one way of achieving the same results.

- We need to have a skill matrix of each team member and task should be assigned to them based on the their skill level. Assigning the task to the right skilled team member will get you the better results. - Each team member should be assigned with work packets and convey the expected outcome. All Team members should be aligned with the larger goal of the total project outcome. Understanding the overall picture will ignite their imagination and bring better outcome towards the overall goal. -Always should have a backup team to fire flight due to non-availability of core team. -Regular team meeting and team building activities will bring collaborative work environment in to the project team and overall organization

Collaboration with other colleagues by assigning responsibility to them will push the best out of the job. Communication is a vital topic here.

-Regular review meeting with the team to work progress in a defined intervals must for better results -This reviews will assist you understand the work progress and gap to achieve the milestones. Any additional resources needed can be brought in into the team to speed up the project, if required -Intermittent delivery feedback details needs to be updated to team during these reviews -Reviewing Project risk assessment report will support us to understand the status of all the identified risks. Add any new risks are appearing again in the projects and plan to medicate those risks. -Best of all, share the best practices and knowledge repository across the teams to improve the productivity

Track record of your project by analyzing feedback,tasks, errors and challenges encountered during the project. Data Analysis is necessary here.

Support between team members is crucial, because it builds trust and respect. I always say that sometimes, knowing who to ask, is the first skill a novice in every field needs to develop. It goes both ways - the helper needs to provide sources and points to explore along with just assisting. When I'm mentoring, I always try to ask some questions before assisting in order to know where to start explaining. When I ask for help, I always explain where I have gotten stuck, what I have tried, and where I have read or learned.

Este punto, evaluar y mejorar es uno de los más subestimados. Porque requiere sentarse y documentar las lecciones aprendidas con el equipo y este análisis ocupa tiempo luego de haber terminado un hito o entregable y es más que sólo irte tú solo a la monta?a y pensar en lo que pudiste hacer mejor, también lo debes transformar en acciones concretas y documentarlas junto a tu equipo de trabajo. Es casi como tomarse el tiempo de sentarse y limpiar el auditorio luego de una fiesta o lavar los platos después de comer, muchos equipos no lo quieren hacer o no están acostumbrados. Es muy importante darse el tiempo de hacer esto pues los beneficios se darán en el mediano y largo plazo y serán saludables para equipo.
