Putting up an end-to-end encryption technology where credit card and other sensitive information are encrypted as soon as the POS device receives the data and sends it to the POS software server. This would ensure that there is no security vulnerability, regardless of where and how hackers install POS malware.

It became clear now how EMV technology improved transaction security where POS system (using EMV standard) authenticate and verify a card/cardholder. Tokenization on the other hand is used mostly with mobile digital wallets (apple pay, Samsung pay, etc.) Where instead of saving the actual card data, the wallet saves a token that is mapped to the actual card data. This way, sensitive data are never shared on public networks.
