How can you ensure quality training delivery from external providers?

We can start from the start by clearly stating our training needs and ensuring that the external provider is able to cater those needs, ensure that the goals set by the training are acceptable to all and relevant information is being conveyed by collaborating with them. And last but not the least by conducting a pre and post session knowledge check to gauage the impact.

In this part (Define your needs) I would actaully ask if it is possible to tailor training so that my employees get the most of what they need. For example, they have a good theoretical knowledge, but are bad in practice. I would ask for a training with a concentration on practice.

Apart from research and comparison of providers I would research actual person who should deliver a training. A training company, which has 10-20 trainers, may have great marks, however, among those trainers there is a person who is better than others. I would ask for the person to deliver training.

1. Know about the Trainers and their Strength & Weakness.2. Give them a Test module to know them their level of communication& way of communication. 3. Understand own Training needs. 4. Discuss with Trainers about the training needs and how they are going to give solutions?? 5. How they are going to measure training evaluation??

???? Once you have your brief, you can start researching and comparing potential providers. Look for providers that have relevant expertise, experience, and reputation in your industry or topic. In this part (Communicate and collaborate) I would actually talk with a provider (it can include inital message/email). By doing this I would ensure that the message (what do we need) is perceived in a right way (and not misunderstud). Example: I would ask for an evaluation document for every person. They could say "Yes, we have it". I got it, but it didn't include all the elements needed for my internal evaluation after. Simply, I didn't examined how elavuation document looks like. Point: You should communicate all the elements (not just evaluation document).

If the event is multi-day, take a pulse after day one – how are your learners doing? How is your facilitator doing? Are their concerns? Even something as small as the room temperature can impact learning and if you don’t check-in often, you may lose the chance to impact the delivery while it is happening.

Let's assume that you often do trainings. For this part (Review and improve) I would make a dynamic table "Review and improvement analysis". Such analysis would include all the elements (columns) I percieve as important. After every training I would analyze pros and cons and based on it and I would change my table (add new elements) afterwards. For example, a student may wrote "It was noisy and there was a low light in the classroom". I would add in my table columns on elements mentioned. This way I would ensure that all the elements that students found important would be included in my document for Review and improvement analysis. I would rate importance of every and each of them and make a final evaluation.

Assess your employees' level before and after the training so that you can see the actual added value. That's a way for sure to see whether they have assimilated things and can put them in practice.
