Everything captured in the scene is carefully looked at and tweaked in a such extent that it fits the needs of the story. Guiding the eyes of the viewer is a good way to look at it, and the intention behind the scene must be understood in order to color it the right way. Focus on the character development? Vignette and lower the scene around the character might be a good choice. Changing the colors can be done if needed, but should really be addressed during filming to give the best results.
