Data encryption is better because using Data encryption protect the data and files from third party and give confidence in the clients.... For instance two party are only meant to see the files and if eventually third party has access to the files definitely the hardware between the two party has been hack or view between the two party from untrusted colleagues or familiar people around the scenes.
