Usually inside an organization if performance test is being done we get promising result but we should try to do the performance test with different routes such as LAN, WAN (Internet) over the broadband, 3G, 4G and 5G etc to get better statistics but it totally depends what kind of API it is. There are various tools for this purpose such as Postman, Soap-ui, Gatling, JMeter etc
