In my experience, I believe doing what makes you happy and comfortable is the best you can do. It doesn’t mean you shouldn’t plan on growing, grow, but grow in your strength and capacity, not because you want promotion or to change environment. I faced a lot of challenges, what i need to do, is to focus on myself, ask for assistance when needed and take better care of myself and your colleagues. Follow the SOP and do better to champion and refresh them when needed as Change is imminent. Learn and Grow! That is my motto
I believe in growth and i believe everyone is a winner as long as they set their minds on winning. There will be several obstacles that can hinder our growth but constant practice and giving the team the right tools and proper motivation to achieve their dreams and vision. I have personally been an example of which i had to move several position in my career since i had the right mindset and the right people to support my growth. The organization must set up periodical career seminars, innovation programs, keeping the team in the know, inviting industrial motivational speakers to tune in the team members who are not sure of their vision.
I honestly believe the way to encourage employee innovation is to allow a test and learn culture, allow things to not work first time or need iterations in order to build a firm foundation. If employees are expected to find a winning solution straight off the bat and there is disappointment or blame if things take longer, employees will stop trying and go back to tried and tested methods that may not be the best solution but feel safer. Allow room for ideas to be piloted and evaluated - TEST.EVALUATE.ADAPT and celebrate the learning that was gathered from the pilot idea. This not only encourages new thinking but starts to build new confidence and safety for trying new ideas and concepts out.
In order to achieve successful end result, it is imperative that the management across all levels is aligned, unified and share the same belief in unity to succeed. Develop a framework and engage constantly to ensure there are no gaps or slips. Foster an open environment and allow employees to fail in a controlled manner which can inculcate a sense of innovation and motivates individuals to succeed. share best practices and learnings which others too can benefit from. Encourage breaking the rules in a good way if that helps in quicker movement towards achieving of the end result. Create an environment where team members look forward to coming to work and not only deliver what they are expected but go beyond what is required.
To stand out, you must approach all assigned tasks innovatively, offering your best sincerely to achieve not only the expected results but surpass them significantly. Share and enhance your expertise, provide assistance to colleagues, and offer advice enabling them to excel in their work with innovation. Be a leader in spreading a culture of innovation, making it a hallmark of your work at all times and in all places.

Providing resources is necessary but challenging for most organizations and many individual managers as well. If you allow employees the required time, training and tools, this by definition means you are not doing things the "standard" way and being less "efficient" and maybe "not getting other things done as quickly". This is doubled down in inefficiency if the experiment fails. But innovation is about the long-term effectiveness of an organization and not about the short term.

This does not encourage it to happen more, but rather encourages reporting it and reflecting on it to avoid investing resources in it and sent it to the graveyard of ideas, and experiment with new ones.
Don't be afraid to fail; it's a part of learning and innovating. Developing a culture that sees failures as opportunities to learn is crucial. I suggest reading 'No Rules Rules' by Netflix, which talks about embracing experimentation and facing new challenges without fear.
I have always encouraged skill gathering. My company allows apprenticeships while at work and how I promote is by committing to a defined 'work hours' reserved for this apprenticeship course work. Learning means reducing team bandwidth in the short term but then it has out of turn ROI in the long term.

In my team, we plan for a monthly knowledge-sharing session. Every month, one team member has to present a small presentation or demonstration on a topic that is new to the team and can be useful in the future. In this process, team members study and learn more about the technologies booming in the market. The goal is to raise awareness among team members so that they can utilize the same technology in their work.
Accept failures. Accolades for Success is no-brainer but supporting a team member post a failure is the key to Earn Trust! In my opinion and experience that also encourages innovation. A team apprehensive of failure cannot 'risk' innovation!
In manufacturing, there's a concept called quality circle. Workers form small teams to come up with clever tools for better efficiency. I've seen firsthand how experienced these workers are. Even simple changes, like using an aluminum tray, can save a lot of expensive raw materials—something not initially considered in the process.
We all know in this era employees are not just satisfied based on the money you pay to them. Employee satisfaction matters a lot and is dependent on lots of factors i.e. respect, trust, acknowledgment, appraisals, and more. To encourage employee innovation trust matters a lot to allow them to do more. As the dopamine level of this generation is too high to satisfy the urge for opportunity the mentorship of leaders also plays a very important role in this matter.
Un point important à ne pas négliger : lorsque vous sollicitez vos employés pour s'engager dans une telle démarche d'innovation, ils vont se mettre en risque, s'autoriser le droit à l'erreur, au jugement de leurs idées, à la déception aussi de ne pas être forcément retenu dans leur proposition... cela peut générer du désengagement ensuite. Pour éviter cela : 1. tenir les engagements donnés quant aux "récompenses" annoncées, 2. commémorer! Pas juste avec un événement de remise de prix ou un simple email de merci. La reconnaissance de la participation de l'autre a plus d'impact lorsqu'elle est diluée dans le quotidien et régulièrement rappelée! Cela permettra aux employés d'être de nouveaux partants pour la prochaine initiative.
