Teaching - the learning process is a traid, that includes, students- teachers- parents. Project portfolios are one beautiful way to connect these three elements to create an impact on society. These portfolios can include various achievements, activities or projects undertaken by the students both in and out of the school. This can provide a bigger picture of how education can impact the community. For eg. In one of my students project portfolios, we included the achievements and a write-up about the experience of the student after successfully accomplishing the society clean up project headed by him.

The second step is to invite participation and collaboration from parents and community members in the development of project portfolios. The simplest way to share the outcomes is displaying the portfolios during PTA meetings and notice/display boards. The second method to celebrate the achievements is through social media promotions or a dedicated space in the school website. I have personally seen some schools putting up big hordings for their students achievements. But , this is definitely a culturaly unique way. Thirdly, and very effective way is to award and reward the students. It can be as simple as an applause in the school assembly.
