When implementing a security platform like an MDM, one of the most critical things you can do is create and enforce standard identification methods for all of your devices. Standardized nomenclature for device names and above all else make sure you don't have any duplicated or repeated usage of names. Use first name and last name whenever possible for usernames. With large organizations, you may very well end up with multiple Dave's, Lauras, etc. When the proverbial SH*T hits the fan, this will be critical as you will have to dig deep to determine who's machine is who's.
