Be sure to include specifics about why the role is exciting to you- perhaps the school has a specific focus you are interested in, or the school is known for its quality professional development. The more specific you are the more you will stand out as someone who truly wants to be there.

Don't send a thank you note. Send something that others are not doing. Record a video of you expanding on some of the ideas that were discussed in your interview. Based on the priorities that were communicated in the interview and your research, make sure it is clear how each of these extended ideas relates to those priorities. If there was something that you felt was especially noticed during the interview, include a reference to that as a reminder for them. Let your eagerness show in the follow-up video; yes be professional, but more importantly-- let it be clear that this job is what you want.

During the interview, you should have asked about the hiring timeline and the expected date of the decision. If you haven't heard back from the employer by then, you can send a polite and professional follow-up email to check on the status of your application. If you receive a job offer, congratulations! You should celebrate your success and be proud of your achievement. You should also respond to the offer promptly and enthusiastically, and ask for any details or clarifications that you might need.
