If your pc case has a transparent side panel, see if the power cables are properly connected to the power button. Open the panel and press the cable against the switch if it is loose. If the power button still does not work, the problem lies elsewhere.

Just swap the power and reset button connectors, they perform the same function and the only difference is the name. Then press the reset button if the computer turns on, the problem is in the button.

You can try to switch it with the reset button, theyre basically the same thing, if both doesnt work. Try shorting the pins with a screwdriver and check if it boots.

4 Bypass the power button

If the wires are intact, then you can try to bypass the power button and turn on your computer manually. To do this, you will need a screwdriver or a similar metal tool. You can try to look for a replacement power switch cable thru online. There are many universal replacement switches. There are also many different styles to choose from.

1. Check the power supply cable 2. Check that the switch at the back of your computer, on the power supply is on. 3. You can switch the power button with the reset button ( not all computers have a reset button these days. 4. Try the power supply with a power supply tester, or you can short the atx power connector (18,19) to see if it goes on. If goes on the power supply is not totaly dead. 5. Try other power supply with the motherboard. If nothing happens then its the motherboard. Most of the time its not the button

Troubleshoot it first. - Check the pin connections - If it still doesn't work, try replacing the power button with the reset switch. - If you want to try if the PC still boots without the power button, you can try to bypass the power button by shorting out the pins where the power switch is located with a screwdriver.
