How can you develop socially responsible leaders through CSR?

CSR initiatives can drive profound change and deliver measurable returns on investment. To nurture leaders in this space, it’s essential to instill a deep understanding of the social and environmental issues they are addressing. Encourage leaders to engage directly with communities, fostering a sense of personal connection and responsibility. In my experience, it's were the effort has to be voluntary that being socially responsive can slip to the bottom of a priority list vs other business objectives especially in tough times. There are two elements that can help: 1. If the organisation is visibly purpose-led, then any socially responsive actions will be in line with the vision and there may already be a roadmap to be executed. 2. If not, then it comes from a place of empathy or personal experience. When strong enough to create a drive, leaders can try to integrate their learnings / socially responsible actions into the mainstream day to day work of delivering business objectives so that it is not extra effort but an enhancement of effort.
