Learning the Basics means just to have an overview of some of the key terminologies as well a little insights on how each task is done. If for example you are starting a job as an entry Level Accountant then it is imperative to have knowledge of P&L statement, General Ledger etc.

Na minha opini?o, a habilidade básica para um bom gerente de opera??es é a de formar equipes de alto desempenho. E para isso é importante conhecer bem a opera??o que você vai gerenciar de forma a identificar as competências-chave para "rodar" operar bem aquele processo. A partir disso, é possivel identificar se temos essas competências no time, se precisaremos desenvolver ou buscar no mercado. A grande notícia é que essa habilidade de desenvolvimento de times de alto desempenho pode ser aprendida. Existem muitos cursos de gest?o de pessoas que abordam essa disciplina.

Entendo que um gestor de Opera??es deve antes de mais nada saber o conceito básico dos processos operacionais, conhecendo as áreas para assim poder gerir uma equipe com alta performance. Ability to make self-assessement and independent review of the process is one of the key elements. To achieve this you need to take on board all comments given already viz basics, analytics, personal experience, feedback etc but it is also important to have power / ability to be responsible and accountable...and also try to get courage on what you do so when smth goes not as per plan you can easily "adjust sails" and bring your boat to success...

It's so important in tour self development process to seek feedback. This feedback can come in many formats (surveys, interviews etc..) This feedback will help you re group on your thought process, approach and execution. Always be open minded as feedback should come with no risk to the person giving it to you. I have a view, never focus on what people say to your face instead be concerned about what is said when your not around. Your goal is to insure that what is said is consistent in your face or behind tour back.

To achieve real improvement, the feedback should be: ? constructive, whether it's negative or positive feedback; ? intentional — not simply for the sake of giving it; ? timely; and ? two-way communication.

Always stay open to the feedbacks and focus on your improvements. Mistakes will happen but you should take the responsibility. Acceptance and Responsibility will lead you to the positive growth. Also understand not all the feedbacks matter. Sometimes the feedbacks will be coming in a way to make their things more comfortable and easy. Sometimes it will be totally wrong as well. Don't argue, just collect the feedbacks and you should decide on that. Work should be hard and competitive, never make it so easy with the feedbacks then it will be boring very soon.
