For example, when coordinating a marketing campaign, I identified it as a project, defined goals, identified stakeholders, and managed risks. This approach improved communication, optimized resource use, and contributed to the campaign's success, demonstrating the practical significance of recognizing projects in real-world scenarios.

Project Management is an art which we can think of to apply in any activity. Even if we are not in PM role but still PM activities can be applied in our day to day activities for small activities too. An example if You are handling manager of administration role and organization is interested to organize a sports event or get together with 300 people for a full day. Even if you are not a PM but you have to play a PM role to plan & execute as there are 100's activities involved to sucessfully conduct and complete these events. To make the story short, we are indirectly playing a PM role in many of the activities.

There are many ways to develop and gain project management knowledge and skills. When I told myself that I was ready for a challenge and to move towards the next level of my career path. I went about gaining knowledge in 2 ways: Reading Business Leadership Books and I went online to Project Management Institute to do various courses: - KICKOFF Predictive Course - Project Management for Beginners - Project Management Basics For myself, I NEEDED to understand the theory behind Project Management (the jargon, the theories, how PMing came about, etc). From there I took to Business Leadership books, I wanted to know what successful and empowering leaders were practicing in their realms.

Feedback is underestimated. You can not reliably measure your competency in a given area of expertise if you are a newbie. One should always seek the advice and guidance of experts.

In roles outside of Project Management or for those new to the position, seeking feedback is crucial for continuous improvement. Rather than viewing feedback negatively, consider it an opportunity for growth and learning. Adopt a growth mindset and actively seek feedback, even after successful projects, as each project is unique, and requires adaptable methods. I've found that project management consist of multiple different specialties being brought together to ensure the division of labour in their specialties results in a finer outcome. In a non project management role, you can see how you're managed and see how what you're in charge of is under your management. This way you'll notice the soft skills required to become a general manager of projects.
