I cannot emphasize lifelong learning enough. Read different perspectives from reputable sources and keep an open mind. Unfortunately, too many decisions about the market are based on impulse and emotion (FOMO), not research and quantitative analysis. Do your own research and analyses then compare to what the experts are saying. There are many online valuation tools available for investors and analysts. Assess and understand your risk tolerance with respect to short and long-term investment. Keep abreast of macro issues which are uncontrollable, yet have the potential to greatly affect our economy and markets.

I read voraciously - I'm always reading at least one book, and more often two or three at a time. First and foremost, I have my before bed reading (usually a graphic novel or comic omnibus - helps me wind down for the night) because I avoid screens at least an hour before bed. Then I have my primary books I'm reading. I've made it a rule to alternate what I call "brain candy" books, and those I can learn something from. The former are usually formulaic action adventure, historical fiction, or just something fun that strikes my fancy at the time; the latter are usually something from the industry or something from history or topical science. The more you read, the better you'll write, and the better you'll express yourself to others.
