So before doing this, Goal must be very much clear to do this. Might be possible due to the various changes in the technologies, we need to redefine the jobs and create new jobs l, matching those specific skills required to do this. For an example, in Pharmaceutical sectors, Number of jobs in R&D and Manufacturing plants, which were being performed by 1 person, has been divided into 2-3 jobs matching to the niche skills to perform that due to the constant changing Global scenario and strictness of USFDA , EDQM authority.

In fact, choosing a job evaluation method should be dependent on the purpose of doing this. Each method is having their pro and cons. I would recommend not learning it through networking but through a certification process done the experts in this area; Hay's or Mercer or WTW or Aon (erstwhile Hewitt)...these are the Big4 in this area with their proprietary tools in place. BTW, I am certified in Hay's model of Job Evaluation which involves point based system through a scientific analysis of technical knowhow, functional knowhow and accountability. All the important points must be analysed without any preset of mind otherwise this will not work. The accuracy of Job Analysis is one of the most important aspects for decision making in terms of Jobs information. Job description and Job Qualification data must be properly collected by various ways like.. interview, survey and focused observations. These data must be analysed in proper way by having scientific approach. Also individuals must be asked in details about challenges for performing the task so that we can understand in details what kind of skillsets required for such jobs.

We need to remember the competition and the market. We hire the best talent because they have the education and experience we need. Orgs need to consider being first to market as opposed to posting ranges that are neither here nor there and then having candidates guess if it's the base or TC. Orgs need to remember they are attracting talent rather than repelling it with poor descriptions and wages. They can do this better when they can determine what financial affect is: 'contribution value' this person will bring to profits. This eliminates location and other unnecessary reasons to devalue the talent needed to beat out competitors. The point is to be first to market and identifying the best talent to get the org ahead.

What is more important is the role which the incumbent has to play. Roles are the expectations the incumbent has to deliver from significant others like bosses, colleagues, main customers.
