How can you determine the ideal length for a speaker's presentation?

I always consider the following before i work out with the speaker: - theme and format - style and personality of the speaker - what is the segment before and after - whether this segment is before lunch, after lunch, or the one before drinks/networking

Also determine who are you presenting to? Are they technical experts who can handle complex details or general audience with shorter attention spans? Consider age, background interest level. Consider what time of day and whether you have surveyed or polled the audience beforehand.

Depends on factors such as the topic complexity, audience engagement, and event schedule. Generally, aiming for 15-30 minutes ensures attention retention. Consider the context and audience preferences when determining the appropriate duration.

El contenido de datos siempre es algo peliagudo, porque el orador poco entrenado cree que poniendo una gran cantidad de cifras en la pantalla se genera una credibilidad (ficticia) que impulsa su autoridad en el escenario. The whole point of a speaker is that they are speaking to an audience. Know your audience and you are halfway to delivering a well received presentation. Given the audience is present there is a likelihood (but not to be assumed) that they are willing participants and they have at least a rudimentary understanding of the topic at hand. Start with an introduction and joke/anecdote to warm them up. Keep it brief enough to get your points across and break it up with interesting facts. 20-min rule has been working well for us in all our conferences globally. Anything beyond that would a little too much for the audience not to loose focus. 15 min is perfect, with 5 min QnA with the audience has been our standard.
