How can you design presentations that optimize sales pitches?

For any pitch for that matter, I follow WH Philosophy - What - What customer wants Why - Why is this need Who - Who are providing services in this area Where - What is the play for geographical influence(on/off) When - When the services/product is required and when can we deliver it Wow - Last but very important " What is the WOW factor you are bringing to on table"

The best presentation is always the one which tells the story- Walk into customer shoes, empathize with them and make your sales pitch into an interesting session keeping customer curious and tunes by 5 below 5 G model. 1. Generate the hunger the need. 2. Give them right information (Don't oversell) 3. Gather examples and stich them together 4. Be Genuine and seek for feedback 5. Grow relationship over one-time sales

Researching your target audience is a key point for designing presentations that optimize sales pitches. Understand their needs using tools like analytics means, surveys, or social media insights. Then, you can tailor your sales presentation pitch and create buyer personas to understand your audience better.

BE DIFFERENT. A lot of presenters speak to their audience. What will set you apart as an orator is speaking with the audience instead. Speaking to the audience: -Telling the audience what they need to do -Telling the audience how you performed a process (the way you‘be done things may or may not apply to certain audiences) Speaking with the audience: -Asking the audience whether they deal with a certain problem (with a show of hands) -Explaining to an audience how you performed a process, why you did it that way, and why that was more effective than another way All it takes sometimes is that extra question, explanation, or demonstration to make a good presentation a great one.

Tailor your presentation to the specific needs and interests of your audience. Understand their pain points, preferences, and what motivates them. Craft a message that resonates with their goals and challenges.

The most important objective is to use your sales pitch to move the buyer to the next step in your sales process. Your presentation should focus on providing valuable information for the buyer. You may be trying to convey an overview of your company, your product, and the value you provide to customers. You may also be trying to learn as much as you can about the buyer, what they need, and why they need it.

Objective is key. Without a clear and concise objective it is quite easy to get lost in the weeds so to speak. Any objective for an organize should be examined on the micro level as well as the macro. Here’s an example: “our goal is to make a sale”. That objective is mediocre at best. It doesn’t examine the actions before, during, or after the sale itself. Here is a better example: “our goal is to track our key performance indicators while making a sale by X date and build such a relationship with the client that they will then leave a good review and send referrals which in turn will build our book of business”. This second example may seem long winded yet it saves quite a bit time by narrowing down when, how, and what the objective is.

Setting my sights on what success looks like, I chart my objective clearly. Is it to ignite interest, close a deal, or foster a relationship? This goal becomes my North Star, guiding every slide, every story, and every statistic I present.

In my experience and with my particular audience, makeup artists, are a creative audience who design and create colours, looks to a help effective results for their clients, without over doing it. As a creative and visual audience it’s quite easy to capture their attention with the right message, using the correct storytelling to capture them is vital. Create, Content, clarity and captive !

Take a Customer-Centric Approach by framing your pitch around the customer. Showcase success stories, testimonials, or case studies that highlight how your product or service has positively impacted others. Make it relatable and demonstrate understanding of your customers' needs. Incorporate interactive elements to keep your audience engaged. This could include polls, Q&A sessions, or demonstrations. Encourage participation to make the presentation a two-way conversation. Emphasize Benefits, Not Just Features: - While it's essential to mention product features, focus more on how those features directly benefit the customer. Help your audience visualize the positive outcomes and improvements your solution brings.

I see the structure of content as the backbone of my pitch. A rambling presentation can lose a deal, so I build mine with a narrative arc, leading the client through a journey that culminates in a compelling call to action.

Identifying the content itself isn't the hard part. Know the customer and their needs should have been done prior to the meeting (recognizing their are differing and often competing needs around the table). The real key to delivering a memorable and compelling presentation is with your stories. Stories are what create engagement and bring what you have to sell into direct relevance for your audience. As human beings we are hard wired to engage with stories. Begin to collect stories. Practice telling them and clearly identify the connection of those stories to your product/service.

Visual design, for me, isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about psychology. I select colors, fonts, and images that don’t just stand out, but also subtly align with the emotional undertone of my message, making the invisible intent visible and felt.

Rehearsing is more than just memorizing lines; it's about refining the art of delivery. It's in these practice sessions that I fine-tune my timing, my tone, and the natural flow of the pitch, turning the presentation into a performance that captivates.

This is the most underrated skill. Visuals, texts, graphs and numbers on presentations lose all the value if it's not backed by storytelling. Being authentic in our delivery yet conveying the right narratives requires practice. In the age of limited attention spans and busy slides practicing a perfect pitch makes a lot of difference

Effectiveness of any presentation or sales pitch can be evaluated if it answers the below:- How has your approach made the life better for the customer? Was the customer able to minimize his errors? Was he able to save on his costs? Was he able to feel more confident? The answers will help you retrospect in a better manner

I always start with, "What do I want the client to feel at the end of the presentation?" Start with the end in the mind, and make sure there is a narrative element that makes the key points, has an emotive element around pain or gain, and is interactive to bring the client into the journey - accessing their voice and perspective. In this way, I try to stand out, and always go for different and a pattern interrupt to get noticed.

Two other points: 1. Creat A Compelling Call-to-Action (CTA): Clearly state the desired action you want your audience to take. Whether it's making a purchase, scheduling a demo, or contacting your sales team, the CTA should be compelling and easy to follow. 2. Storytelling Narrative: Craft a narrative that guides your audience through a journey. Use storytelling elements to create an emotional connection and make your message memorable. People remember stories much more than facts and figures.

Have in mind that you can do everything of the above perfectly, but not having in mind to salt it with a piece of your authentic self may not bring the outcome you aim for. Regardless the audience you present to, it is still ‘human to human’ business (AI pardon me). Intriguing fact is that majority of credits for a successful presentation still holds a tonality of your voice and your body language (97%). Not saying what you are presenting doesn’t count but how you say it obviously scores higher.
