Conduct interviews, surveys, and discussions to gather as much information as possible about their aesthetic tastes, lifestyle, and intended use of the space. These basic design principles are a part of 1st year design studio and it is the basic understanding of design. Every architect has their own signature design element that is followed in his buildings . Sometimes it is just one design element or a design principle. One such good examples is the Mies Van der Rohe buildings. These buildings follows geometry, repetition ,proportions and balance. His signature element is parallel lines that can be seen on almost all the buildings that he designed.

To make a nice space, follow design rules like balance and harmony. These rules help you make the space look good and organized. They also help you create focus and movement in the space.

Following the principles of Vitruvius, to achieve a holistic design it must exhibit the three qualities – stability, utility, and beauty. Some designs are purely aesthetic in approach while others offer both aesthetic and function both in form and value. While each theme varies depending on the culture and intent, universally the elements of design follow the same points. If you do this you will always work to schedule because you know you always have to show progress.

Feedback offers a confirmation what works, what does not. However we say, receive feedback within a context and you know yourself which applies.

Seeking feedback or critic is the most effective method of driving design decisions. It’s like sculpting a rock and creating a masterpiece. Sometimes the feedbacks are negative and sometimes they are positive depending upon the expertise of an individual. It is really important to stay calm and listen to those feedback positively and decide if those comments can make the design better.

Being creative means different things to everyone with a different threshold. We encourage our clients to seek the project as a plain canvas for self-expression and lead them to interior and bespoke pieces that are extension of themselves beyond aesthetics. Love the concept of empowering the user again! I agree that too often we rely on fashion and third parties to dictate what to like, which of course will never be truly fulfilling. Being creative is the most exciting part of architecture. At times it is a challenge because building design is a process that requires both creative and practical approach. It is really challenging sometimes for an architect to convert a creative design into more practical and budget-bounded space.

Ideally, design is a creative act, and so creativity is vital to design. Going beyond the basics of designing for a narrow visual based purpose in mind, creativity can become a driver for the meanings of place-making to be manifest in profound ways. Hence, we may speak of a design language in a way that the designed project articulates the design intentions about the problem being solved, such as the creation of a place for its purpose. In this sense, we can expect the design to address the problem with sensitivity to the range of complexities that may be present, such as the multi-dimensional (3D, 4D etc.) or open-ended questions regarding the design. With a creative approach, the design becomes limitless in its capacity for possibilities.
