Things that I have found helpful: - When needing approval for action or support on a problem demonstrate your autonomy and independence by presenting solutions. Give up to three options, your recommendation and your reasoning. - Aim to take the lead on initiatives or projects, or become an SME on a particular product or process and then share that knowledge with colleagues and offer support wherever possible. - Keep your manager informed of your key activities. Send a weekly email detailing successes and areas of focus (outside of BAU). Keep it brief and positive. - Offer opinions and ideas in meetings and offer to pick up actions (as long as you have capacity).
