Antes del ingreso de la persona con discapacidad es muy recomendable platicar con sus jefes y compa?eros para evitar e vuelquen en deseos de ayudar o apoyar al nuevo miembro,claro que habrá que apoyar pero en la medida en que el (ella) lo vaya solicitando. La creación de políticas en este sentido es de importancia y establecer códigos de conducta y respeto igual. Dejar bien claro que evitemos conductas de exceso, recordando, mismos derechos, mismas obligaciones

In my experience, and as a person with a disability, and currently a diversity, equity, inclusion officer, it is essential to empower people to self identify. But, this only happens when there is psychological safety. Training will be essential in creating spaces that understand that disability is not scary, but simply part of the human condition. People lack an understanding that we accommodate ourselves more often than we think. In fact, each and every one of us at some time will fit the federal definition of disability. A physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more life activities , which includes work. When we take away barriers and educate, we equip and empower the company and all!

Sensitization of workforce is critical. (A) Instead of creating complex ways to interact with colleagues with disabilities, create awareness about disabilities with your org wide audience. (B) Empathy needs to be part of the org culture , hence its recommend that organisations need to set guidelines and create awareness right from the hiring to induction phase itself. (C) There needs to be a trained medical coach available for employees at an agreed frequency.
