IT'S ALIVE! Your reel should be a living thing! I'm not saying inject it with some sort of mutant serum. (Although that would be a cool story) I'm saying having it be continuously updated with new content. Start with what you have. Then as you get a job or do side projects, update that reel with new content. Post it on your website or social sites.
