How can you create accurate and unbiased content?

Content creators and developers need to uphold a commitment to delivering timely and relevant content while avoiding the use of outdated or irrelevant sources.

In my experience, we have a lot to say and want to say it all. Most of the time, I want to let my creativity flow and do not want to cut anything that will disrupt it. Two things I had to adapt in my journey were to allow my creativity to flow and write all that I wanted to write on a topic. Then I take off my writer's hat and become the editor, who looks at it differently, such as what the content is meant to do, who it is addressed to, and how much research content needs to go in. Sometimes we need to cut off the flowing language, as we need to think of the mass of readers who may read it. Then, using the appropriate amount of data and personal touches, reduce it to a level that is not watered down but is crisp, clear, and catchy.

Accurate content requires research, balance and mention of refrences etc. We should be able to accurately cite the sources and ensure that they are credible too. Unbiased data on the other hand requires a lot more effort. The content creator needs to set aside their own biases first and be extremly careful of the subconcious biases which may creep in unintentionally. As a content creator, understanding the audience, listening carefully to their voices, knowing their concerns, their fears is really important. Once you know your audience well, you will be better equipped to create “accurate and unbiased” content.

??Before researching your sources, keep in mind that you may have your own biases as well. The very fact that you have a topic and purpose in mind in writing the content is already a bias. ??The best thing to do is to balance this. Present your stance or angle of the article, but add other information that says otherwise. Unless it's persuasive content, then by all means focus on one side only but delivery should still be respectable.

Simple, impactful words and short sentences are calming to the eye and stimulating to the brain. We don’t need to resort to hi-jinks, if we can simply state our case with an illustrative example. Message sent and message received would be well aligned and achieve the desired impact. Polarized opinions need to also be curbed when communicating your thoughts.

Do not try to paraphrase/rephrase them. ??In cases that you need to paraphrase/rephrase, compare the original statement vs. your rephrased one. Check if the meaning is the same. Sometimes, when we rephrase statements, we tend to lose the original meaning of the text.

Creating accurate and unbiased content is challenging. The choice of the topic itself is always intended and serves a certain purpose. This can be addressed by referring to quotes and citing sources as much as possible without paraphrasing or explaining.

Never stress your opinions on the readers, always provide them the space to shape their own opinion based on your published content.

If you're very passionate about one side of a topic, consider what someone on the exact opposite side of the topic might think or say, like in a Lincoln-Douglas debate. Then consider how to include the positions that are ethically relevant to your content.

Context and background can also be biased based on political agendas. History has never been clean. Best is to present facts and let the readers form their own opinions
