For instance, the concern about overhangs may not be important if a component is printed from sintered powder or FDM with the aid of an additional dissolvable support material. In either of these scenarios though, attention must be given to any hollow cavities. An effective design for a part will systematically weigh the advantages and disadvantages associated with a given technology, ultimately guiding the selection of the most suitable production method.

When preparing your model from a CAD software to a slicer software, you're going to want to save your CAD file in case you want to edit it later then resave as a .STL file and open that .STL file in your Slicer software. Once you have your model opened in slicer, some preparations you will want to consider within the slicer settings are: -Nozzle temp. (Usually fine at 200 degrees) -Bed temp. (Consider how much of the build plate area you will be using. The corners are prone to being less heated than the middle of the build plate so you will have to let the heat travel for a bit.) -Z Offset (Adjusting nozzle offset to get great first layer to avoid any warp, ghosting or extrustion issues.) -Print Speed (Can impact the quality of your print)

5 Preview and export your model
