One of the best ways to conduct evaluations is to first have your faculty do self evaluations. Give them the forms and after they fill them out have a discussion about their findings while explaining the criteria you will use when you evaluate. Often their understanding of how evaluations work is unrealistic and once they gi through the process of understanding the rubric they will be more accepting of the outcomes and make themselves better teachers as well.

Faculty evaluation should not be seen as a punitive or judgmental process, but as a formative and developmental one. To foster a culture of trust and growth, you need to establish a positive and professional relationship with the teachers, and show them that you care about their well-being and development. Be transparent, honest, and consistent in your evaluation, and respect the teacher's autonomy and dignity. Recognize and appreciate the teacher's contributions and potential, and inspire them to pursue excellence and innovation.
