How can you communicate your ideas to a dismissive boss?

In my experience, I encountered a dismissive boss who was really fixated on environment management ideas from his previous assignments. While he had good ideas, context-wise they weren’t best match for the landscape we were working in. So, I had my own best ideas, the boss had own ideas. I played diplomatic as well as professional. We established a pilot project on two different sites (both with same conditions). I implemented boss’s ideas on one site and mine on another for 1 good year. Boss’s ideas failed, mine worked. From this experience of evidence the dismissive boss turned receptive. What I want to say, to deal with dismissive bosses need a mix of maturity, diplomacy, professionalism. From my personal experience, the first critical step is to 'know your boss'. Once you have taken the time to observe and study your boss the next step might be less daunting. For example;there is a boss that gets excited when he/she receives input or ideas from the team, and then there is the type of boss who prefers everything done according to his/her way despite team input or ideas. In addition to this; there is the type of boss that when he/she is alone is never a good time to approach/communicate with them with your views or ideas BUT when it is in a group setting they pay attention to your input and less dismissive. This type of boss gets stimulation or is much more relaxed in a wider audience. The rest is up to you.

Something you have to know. To make anyone interested in what you say, you gotta create a connection with the listener. You want to show value to the person in what you say, something he/she is interested at. No matter the person. How to know what the person would like to know? First, you need to have some experience with the person or ask someone that has. Ask if the person is more direct or if he likes more details. Then you can talk properly to him.

Everyone is different and there are various reasons for every atitutude we portray. The key to know why one behaves the way they do is to first understand who they are. To me, if you want to know why a boss may be dismissive, you have to know them, you have to know what impresses them and the reason behind it and know the vice versa of that as well. This will help you structure your approach and give you an upper hand on how to deal with them to get your desired results

Find a suitable moment to discuss your ideas with your boss. Request a meeting or schedule a time when they are likely to be more receptive and available to listen.

Always tell them face to face! Show respect for their opinions but give them reasons to listen. Don’t get discouraged when they start objecting to an idea but be willing to listen

Choosing (and waiting) for the right time and place, together with getting to know your boss are essential when communicating our ideas to him/her. (This principle, actually, applies to others as well.) However, how can we get to know our bosses better in remote jobs? This is a question I am still figuring out... But one of the things I learned is to investigate further, ask my co-workers who know them better about them and pay even more attention to details in messages for example... That is, to read more in between lines.

First of all I will accept my fault. Later on I would explain the causes of this malfunction. I think if the boss is human he / she will definitely melt down.
