Having been involved in this conversation for approx 6 or 7 different large breaches (and a couple of hundred smaller ones), the biggest item on the table is "KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE". all of the advise that AI engines, books, process maps, etc. are all great fodder for filling conversations, but if you aren't concise and honest to anyone involved, from the CEO down to the Sys Ops person who just came back from vacation to get hauled into a breach session, you aren't helping. Be obscenely particular about the 5 W's, and then review it in your mind 1000 times before delivering it. Also be prepared to help answer questions like "do we disclose", "was data ACTUALLY taken", etc. (... no more room)
