From my experience, hiring for fit and diversity is essential for a dynamic team. It's crucial to find individuals who align with your core values and vision, as they naturally integrate into your team's culture and contribute effectively. Equally important is seeking diversity in skills, backgrounds, and perspectives. This variety fosters creativity and innovation, as diverse viewpoints often lead to more comprehensive solutions. Remember, a team that's both aligned in purpose and diverse in thought is more likely to be adaptable, innovative, and successful.

Great tips once again in how to build a team that thrives. I would add that clear vision, clear roles, mission, empathy from the leader is important. Embracing the diversity of the team and being inclusive I.e using all the different perpectives and backgrounds to the advantage of the team are key, what many clients find useful is the creation of a fast teaming passport (which we use when we do our Global Team debrief using Global DISC). It shares information about every team member, their Global DISC profile but also more in depth information about their communication & feedback preferences, their cultural background, what people may misunderstand about them and this creates cohesion and inclusion in the team encouraging it to thrive.
