How can you build relationships with senior executives?

Not having the time. Building relationships requires an investment of time, and employees are already struggling to keep up with the demands of their jobs. The idea of making time to do something that isn’t essential to their role can seem far-fetched at best. Not wanting to interrupt them or take up their time. Knowing that executives are busy people, employees don’t want to distract them from their important work. They don’t want to appear self-centered by taking their focus away from their job. The executives work in a different department. Employees may not see the value of connecting with leaders outside of their own business unit. They might have an easier time connecting with the ones they work with more

No perfect answer and, must be always humbling work in progress. You need to be interested rather than interesting. Listen carefully and don't lose focus on the big picture in the eye of the beholder.

Direction is very important and so too are the goals. One must keep in mind his/her purpose to make the initiative easier. Because when you have purpose in mind, its very easy to start the conversation and get going.

People may forget your name, title, what you talked about but will never forget that feeling of rapport and mutual respect they felt with great sales people right away. It is true that forst impressions are lasting ones. Be humble, interested, curious and good listener to start on a good note (*perfect timing doesn't exist)

Storytelling in sales is crucial to master, It is a use case in action, sometimes it is more valuable and attention grabbing than a successful demo or a PPT presentation. It needs to convey value, trust and investment worthiness to be able to open up and engage with your potential customers. It resonates with them longer than you think and will start both emotional and rational discussions and dialogs.

What's harder than cold calling, is a call that going cold. It needs patience, perseverance and stay hot enough. Being prepared for the NO's, follow up reaction is critical feedback of what's going on within the prospect, maybe you need to realize if they are in want or need, wrong person to talk to, they are undergoing other critical things at the moment and so on or simply are not necessarily a qualified prospect at least for the time being.

One way that I found very useful to build rapport and trust is to be knowledgeable and updated with the industry trends. Knowledge speaks for itself and that way you can add value and show the senior executives that you could a valuable resourse.

Demonstrate genuine interest in their work and achievements. Ask insightful inquiries, actively listen and demonstrate that you value their ideas. Genuine interest might help establish rapport. If necessary, seek mentorship from a senior executive. A mentor-mentee relationship can offer useful insights, advice, and a platform for strengthening bonds.

A sales person, got to have it in the DNA to be patient, curious and interested in human nature. Remember that the first thing anyone is basically selling is their own brand and influence l, if you build it right defend it with all you have. Bring reputable and honest business person will over live any deal, order, win or big commission.

Nurturing relationship with the consistent value creation of self will be a key quality for any relationship. The consistent value creation with individual person or with the work, will always sounds better and can get us to any strong relationship.

Collaborate across functions. Be smart about money. Ask intelligent questions. Propose solutions. Share interesting information. Be succinct. Disagree respectfully. Make effective presentations

In my experience, you need to manage up. The best way is building a relationship based on what you are doing as it relates to business goals. Ask directly for help or support but be specific to what help you need. You need to show initiative and your effort in working out what you need help with. And then after each interaction, you agree the 2 or 3 actions each of you will take and by when. The by when is always the missing link and then often the follow up doesn’t happen because the junior person doesn’t know how to l ask for feedback and, in a lot of cases, the senior person is left feeling the junior person isn’t committed. A bad end for both!
