I agree. Introverts are not anti social. Some of them are actually social. To socialize with them you need to be patient enough to interact with them on their terms. The idea is to see things from their own point of view till they are comfortable enough to interact with you. Respecting their boundaries is a good way to make them more open.

Paying compliments work very well. Respect them they are being assertive and check in with them to know when it is suitable for them to attend to a project. Treat them kindly too. Show them you care. You can send a text at a decent time to check in on them. Don’t be forceful, or invasive.

I have an introverted friend who shared how he gets anxiety over calls. I send him a text when I need to call/talk to him. Respect their time as well. When you indicate to work with them for 10am, be ready by 9:55am. This communicates that you value their time.
