Scalability & Redundancy 7. Robust Security 8. Performance Optimization 9. Training & Development 10. Communication & Collaboration 11. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity 12. Vendor Management 13. Metrics & KPIs 14. Process Reviews 15. Budget & Resource Allocation

Listen before you speak. Understand and protect the team while being transparent on every level from inside up to the client. Don′t be afraid to ask or say no until you are sure about the facts. Always keep your word. It is always the team and not your personal marketing or reputation. Being responsive and reliable will be a positive side effect once you stop thinking about yourself. Its the outcome and the people behind it what matters. Become part of the team, be the first to step on the battlefield and leave no one behind.

Internal IT Team will be another challenge to ensure the service deliver smoothly in collaborative spirit. Here’s some of the list to make happen: 1. Leadership to Orchestrating support team eg: Network, Servers, Storage, Security, Applications, Mail System, Active Directory, etc 2. All team members and stake holders are FULLY UNDERSTOOD the VISION of Service and life with it! 3. Spirit of OWNERSHIP to give best service to customers/ users.

The IT team is only as good as its weakest member. Team means that everyone needs to be able to rely on each other, which translates to helping and supporting each other and working together to resolve issues. A true team environment leaves no member behind as the understanding is we are all responsible to the organisational stakeholders.

In this field, you always have to stay "hungry" and never satisfied. Technology, software, etc. is forever changing so we have to learn to quickly adapt to change. No matter what title you hold, you will never know how to do everything, but the key is to always remain "teachable. " More opportunities will come to the ones that are willing to put in the work and willing to go an extra mile to assist fellow co-workers.

Always feel open to jump on new adventures internally. If a new tool is being deployed, look into getting on the project to deploy it. Educate the end users in the tool and before it’s even deployed internally, you’ll be the subject matter expert.

Building a positive reputation takes time and effort. It’s about consistently demonstrating your expertise, reliability and professionalism in all aspects of your work. As an addition to being curious and adaptable, it’s important to stay current with industry trends because IT is an ever evolving field in which new technologies and methodologies are continuously adopted, improved and recycled to create further advances.

Being ethical can mean that sometimes we have to say "No" - Operations implies we've already agreed and accepted support but don't be afraid to push back when you're not comfortable with what is being proposed.

Best practices are indeed just that and should be followed. Pride in your industry means pride in your work and that means operating in a manner which reflects the correct way to do things. Do not be afraid to stand the principle ground and in the same manner own your mistakes and learn and grow from them. They very often serve as teachable moments for team members.
