How can you build a personal brand that connects with your audience?

Instead of a personal brand, call it a personal “identity” as it reflects better what this means for individuals. Identity = who you are, hence your authentic self. When you start here, you start with the vision, the values that you as a person have and half of the job is done! Because when you show up as yourself, you’ll definitely connect with your audience.

Most people skip this step - huge mistake! Absolutely every decision you make about your personal brand will come back to those initial objectives, core values and your mission. Outlining these elements from the beginning will prevent you from comparing your personal brand to others. They will also help you generate ideas for content through the content pillar method.

In my experience I have learnt that according to Simon Sinek, you need to utilize the golden circle to the maximum. What does it mean you may ask? 1. Find your why: this is a first step to finding your purpose and discovering yourself as well since you will need to know the reason for doing some of the things you choose to do. 2. Find your what: this is the second step where you will then get to understand what it is that you have to offer people that is of value. 3. How: the last step to knowing what next is understanding the route or steps you need to reach your goals This has been evident in my experience with AIESEC and I believe that it is very important for someone to know this as a youth.

Relevant ist durchaus, zu wissen, ob man den ?pain Point‘ einer Zielgruppe anspricht oder sich auf der Freude und Wachstum ausrichtet. Letzteres ist einfacher, denn einen Schmerz will man m?glichst schnell los werden. Sich auf Freude und Wachstum auszurichten, erfordert eine Zielgruppe, die sich bewusst damit auseinandersetzt und diesen Schritt gehen will.

Defining your core values, mission, and goals is one of the most important factors. This clarity becomes your compass, guiding every brand decision. It prevents chasing trends and whispers "focus on YOU." But purpose isn't just self-serving. It's the fuel that powers content that resonates. Each value becomes a content pillar, be filled up with ideas that authentically connect. So, before you polish your pixels, ask yourself, "What is the purpose?"

There's something that is unique or special within each one of us. The more we truly and authentically show up to serve others with our special talent (inspiring, speaking, content creation, video production, etc) our niche and target market will reveal itself. Once you see the commonalities you'll have a niched target audiences.

I heard an artiste being interviewed this week, can't quite place the name. They said that they create from inward out, not vice versa. In short, they do not identify an audience and their needs and subsequently create for them. I totally agree with this. It is the very reason that the authentic self underpins an individual brand, which in turn, draws in the audience that resonates with the brand.

This is essential, as you are not addressing the whole world, but a specific niche. It would be a mistake to try to please everyone and lose your authenticity and personality. The people you are addressing are not some generic, abstract entity, they are real people. If you want to connect with your audience, identify who they are first. This is a two-way journey, our brand without our audience is nothing, so let's get to know them in depth.

Marca pessoal é medida pela imagem que você transmite, conteúdo que produz e mensagens que propaga. I think people can get a bit rabbit in the headlights when it comes to having to tell personal stories - it can feel exposing and vulnerable to share one’s own perspective or point of view. But this aspect is probably the most important part of building a personal brand. If brand building means a clear identity and distinctiveness think about what stories you can craft and share that showcase your unique qualities and lived experiences. Ask your colleagues and friends to help if you struggle with where to start. Think about what you want others to think/say about you and consider how a story might help them remember you. Think of an emotion or mood you are looking to convey and think about how you can take this story into imagery too.

Share your story is probably the most important part. Last year I decided to be more personal on Youtube. I talked about more specific situation that applies to myself and my audience. Example: how to get ready if something happens back home. It's very niche, but very important to my audience. So it resonate more with them when I open up about parts that are less talked about online.

Desde mi propia experiencia, hay cuatro aspectos básicos a la hora de hacer crecer tu red de contactos. 1. Crear contenidos de calidad, que aporten valor y te conviertan en una persona de referencia. Da rienda suelta a tu creatividad y ofrece lo mejor de ti mismo a tu audiencia. 2. Ser constante. Márcate objetivos que puedas cumplir y comprométete con ellos. 3. Cuidar a tu audiencia. Es muy positivo conseguir nuevos seguidores pero más importante es mantenerlos. Interactúa y escucha. 4. Ser auténtico y fiel a tus principios. La identidad de tu marca será mucho más sólida y valiosa.

While you are doing it, tell everyone who will listen and even those who won't listen right now. When you consistently do the thing you want to be recognized for, you will eventually be recognized for doing it. Say what you do and do what you say. Stay consistent and committed.
